Healthy Fats

Healthy fats are just what they sound like... fatty foods that you can feel good about eating! Eating these foods can also satisfy your appetite in a meal or a snack while giving your body the proper nutrients it deserves and the energy you will need for the day.

Healthy fats fall into two categories: Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated Fats

  • Monounsaturated fats are the healthiest among all fatty foods! They help in developing and maintaining cells, lowering cholesterol levels, and reducing the chances of heart disease and stroke. These fats are found in foods such as nuts, avocados, and olive oil.

  • Polyunsaturated fats are fats that are necessary to essential functions of our bodies, but can't be generated naturally. There are two main types of polyunsaturated fats, which include Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Omega-3 is beneficial for heart health and is found in foods that include fish, nuts, and seeds, while omega-6 is based on plants.
