Homemade Ground Turkey Spaghetti 🍝 with Tomato Sauce 🍅🌿...This flavorful hearty ground turkey pasta recipe that features cherry tomatoes and fresh basil is a perfect weeknight dinner dish.

PREP TIME: 20 Mins

COOK TIME: 40 Mins

TOTAL TIME: 60 Mins

SERVINGS: 4

COURSE: Dinner

INGREDIENTS

½ cup extra-virgin olive oil

4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

1 lb. ground turkey

1 fresh tomato (chopped)

1 can tomato sauce

8 cherry tomatoes

2 cups basil leaves

1 small yellow onion, finely diced

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

12 oz. whole wheat spaghetti

2 oz. finely grated parmesan(optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water as the package instructed.

  2. In a separate pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in the onions and chopped tomatoes. Cook stirring for about 3-5 minutes until softened. Add in the ground turkey (use a fork or spoon to separate it into thin pieces) and black pepper, and garlic, and cook until the turkey is brown. Once cooked, add the tomato sauce, basil, salt, and pepper.

  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Add the cherry tomatoes and cook on LOW heat for 5-6 minutes until they soften (you can take a fork or spoon by slightly pressing gently to create a sauce texture), make sure to put on the heat on low so it doesn't overcook. Try to leave some of the cherry tomato tenders but not smashed them if needed.

  4. On a serving plate, add the cooked spaghetti topped with the ground turkey tomato sauce and the remaining basil. Bon appetit!!! 🤩

Serving Suggestion: Drizzle with parmesan cheese if desired.

Variation Tip: You can meal prep and refrigerator for up to 4 days.
